Southampton Township is served by two volunteer fire companies.
Vincent Fire Company #1
The Vincent Fire Company is a volunteer fire company that has been serving our community from the Village of Vincentown since 1850. The fire company is charged with protecting the personal safety and property of the citizens and visitors of Southampton Township. In addition to structure fires the members are prepared to face a wide variety of incidents including fires in outside storage, brush and wild lands, vehicles and light industrial installations. The Fire Company is also responsible for hazardous materials incidents, rescuing persons trapped by natural disasters, vehicle accidents, building collapses and numerous other situations. Finally the staff provides emergency medical services by providing assistance to the volunteer EMS agencies in and around Southampton. The entire staff strives to maintain a superior level of service, training and equipment.
Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Company
Hampton Lakes Fire Company was established as Southampton Township began to expand in 1957. We practice our mission as stated:
“We, the men and women of the Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Company, pledge to serve the Southampton community through continued professional training of ourselves and the fire prevention education of its residents. We unselfishly commit to the duty of protecting life and property, and our responsibility to remain actively involved in the community we serve.”
Hampton Lakes Fire Company is staffed by a compliment of New Jersey State certified Firefighters / New Jersey State certified EMT’s. We are trained in Fire Suppression, Vehicle Rescue, Ice Rescue, Water Rescue, Basic Life Support, which includes CPR and AED. The fire company responds to wild fires and brush fires including fire caused by down power lines. Hampton Lakes has and continues to respond to natural disasters during hurricanes and floods. Fire Police protection too is provided to direct traffic away from areas of danger.
To further our level of protection Hampton Lakes Fire Company has sponsored a Firefighter Explorer program consisting of young men and women between the ages of 14 to 18. These men and woman share an interest in becoming emergency personnel and receive training that prepares them to become certified firefighters upon reaching their eightieth birthday. Our explorer program is open to any individual, who lives in the Southampton and surrounding areas,
