Message from Mayor Mikulski – April 8th

April 8, 2020

Fellow Southampton Residents,

First and foremost, on behalf of the Township Committee, our Administrator and staff, we hope this finds you and your families healthy and well, despite the current circumstances. A special thank you to all our residents who work in the healthcare field and continue to work every day despite the increasing pressures caused by the virus.

We will use the Township website to provide all updates that we receive from County and State authorities. Updates will be posted at least weekly, or as information is received. If you would like text/email updates, please sign up for NIXLE on the Township Website.

Burlington County has created a good “dashboard” on its website and is a good source for information regarding the virus. It can be found at:

Among the information contained on the County website is the phone number to request testing. All symptomatic residents of Burlington County who would like to be tested can call 609-726-7097 for testing. The call center is open from 9am until 5pm daily. Remember, if you have an emergency – if you have chest pains, can’t breathe or feel as though you are being suffocated – please call 9-1-1.

New State Executive Orders signed by Governor Murphy:

  • ALL NJ RESIDENTS must wear face coverings in retail stores. This Order was just announced prior to posting this update, so more to follow.
  • 2019-2020 school year assessment requirements for 8th and 12th grade have been WAIVED.
  • All State and County Parks and Forests are closed until further notice.

Reminder that the NJ State Police has warned of scams involving the virus outbreak and the checks that may be issued by the Federal Government.  Please be vigilant in looking at any offer that comes to you by mail, phone, text or e-mail.  If you are uncertain, please ask someone you trust to review the offer or before “clicking” on any link contained in electronic correspondence.  Always be careful before clicking any link in an email, particularly if the email does not address you by name.

If we can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the Township at 609-859-2736

Mike Mikulski, Mayor
