General Meeting Minutes:  January 9, 2007

 

Officer’s Present:  Jon Morrow (President), Jim Corsey (1stvp), Jim Papagno (2nd vp), Charles Roseboro (3rd vp), Brenda Bryan (Treasurer), Gen Sprague (secretary)

 

Public Members Present:  Ryan Houston (basketball Commissioner), Jessica Willitts, Stacy Malcolm, Brian Sprague, Bernie Tetrault, Dan Brownell and Kendra Lelie

 

President Jon Morrow called the meeting to order at 8:14 pm.

 

Minutes for General Meeting of December 12, 2006 reviewed.  Jim Corsey motioned to accept, Jim Papagno seconded.

 

Basketball:  Mr. Harris has called STRA and requested that we remind the children not to run and bounce basketballs in hallways.

            Ryan asked if there is a way that we can set up a concession area for the Tournament for 7th & 8th grade boys.

            Ryan will give information for Allstar tryouts to Gen to make a flyer to be distributed to children.

            The ref’s for Basketball games are $36.00 for 2 ref’s and they want to be paid by weekly.

            Charles Roseboro to figure out picture schedule.

            Ryan reported that everything was running ok with basketball.

            Ryan wants to set up men’s rec league.  A flyer will be distributed.

            Charles said that high school shirts will be in soon.

            All girls’ high school basketball will receive refunds because there are not enough players to form a team.  Jim Papagno made motion to accept, Jim Corsey seconded.

 

Baseball:  Rick Bowman has accepted the position of the Baseball Commissioner.

            Brian Sprague would like to help out with baseball.  Jon Morrow said he would let Rick know.

            Jim Papagno would like to have our children become more involved in other townships for baseball.  Jon Morrow does not feel that we have enough talent to compete.

            Opening day will be tentative for April 14th.  Possibly a Hans Lokan Tournament that day.

            We need new catchers gear.

            Fields:  Rick Bowman to figure out what will be happening with the field change.

 

 

Softball:  Dan Brownell will go through all of the equipment.

 

Soccer:    Banner’s have been taken down and stored away.

 

Field Hockey:  No Report

 

 

 

Fall Baseball:  Still outstanding.

 

Volleyball:  No report

 

Treasurer‘s Report:  Brenda Bryan reported:  She will be dropping the year end information off at accountant. 

Following checks need to be approved:  1.Camden BRG (ref’s) - $168.00

                                                                 2. D&N (Basketball’s - $288.00

                                                                 3. D&N - $312.00

                                                                 4. D&N - $42.00

                                                                 5. D&N - $220.00

$3452.64 needs to used for tax purposes from 2006.  These checks will be put toward that amount.

Gen Sprague made a motion to approve all bills, Jim Papagno seconded.

Jim Papagno made a motion to accept Treasurer’s Report.  Jim Corsey seconded.

 

New business:  Casino Night will be May 19th.  Place to be determined.  Jim Papagno made a motion to take $1000.00 to begin preparations, Jim Corsey seconded.

            Brenda wants to change way concession stand hours are put in.

            Kendra Leli (Township Planner) came to meeting about Green Acres Open Space.  She wanted to get an idea to what the township is looking to have done.  She needs schedules from sports from 2006.

            Jessica Willitts asked about the By- Laws.  Jon Morrow said we are not ready to redo them yet.

            Jessica Willitts thanked the board for doing such a nice job on the news letter.

 

Executive meeting scheduled for January 22, 2007 @ 7pm.  The next General Meeting is scheduled for February 13, 2007 @ 8pm.  The meeting was adjourned @ 11:45pm.  Charles Roseboro motioned.  Brenda Bryan seconded.
