SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP ACADEMIC RESOURCES FOUNDATION
GRANTS AWARDED SINCE 2000
The foundation has dontated a total of more than $40,000 in the past two years (2000-2002).
GRANTS FOR SPRING - 2000
- RENAISSANCE FAIRE
Provided 100 sixth graders to travel through space and time to Renaissance Italy and learn about class systems, music, and food of that era.
- STAND UP, SPEAK OUT
Two assembly programs for K through 5th grade with the theme of "No more victims, No more bullies".
- ELECTRIC MESSAGE SIGN
An electronic sign proposed by the 5th grade to provide information for all the students.
- INTRAMURAL SPORTS
The 4th and 5th graders were provided with a program to develop positive attitudes and sportsmanship, and to improve motor skills and fitness.
GRANTS FOR FALL - 2000
- SEVEN QUILTS FOR SEVEN SISTERS
A program for the entire school relating to Black History Month - a cultural experience and learning geared towards social studies and music.
- LET THE READING
A new reading series for the K, 1st and 2nd library.
- MURAL PAINTING
Students in School #3 will design and paint murals inside school to encourage students' pride and ownership in their school.
- SAVINGS ACCOUNT PROJECT
The basic skills math class learns to use a savings account.
MAJOR GRANT FOR DECEMBER - 2000
- WORLD WIDE SCHOOL WEATHERNET
A program providing the state-of-the-art Watch weather monitoring at the schools. It includes hardware, software, K-8th curriculum and access to the Web. Beyond the classroom this will provide the community with valuable weather information in resources through standard phone lines, the Internet, and local television.
GRANTS FOR MARCH - 2001
- NEW JERSEY COASTAL HERITAGE TRAIL ROUTE
An assembly program for K-2nd about the coastal habitat of New Jersey.
- "MATHMASTERY" FOR ALL FIFTH GRADERS
Provides a web-based program for the entire fifth grade for 2001-2002 school year.
- READER'S THEATER
This program provides an oral reading experience for the literature classes.
- FIELD TRIP TO EGYPT
Students travel to the Pennsylvania Museum to see Egyptian culture exhibits.
GRANTS FOR MARCH - 2002
At its regular meeting on Monday, February 25, 2002, the Board of Education voted 7-0 to accept a total of $9,400 in mini-grants from the Southampton Township Academic Resources Foundation.
The grants will be used to fund digital microscope programs for pupils in the fifth and sixth grades. The money also will fund a computer-writing workshop program.
GRANTS FOR 2004-2005
During 2004-2005 the Foundation spent over $16,000 on 13 new projects.

7 FALL GRANTS FOR 2005-2006
The 7 Fall Grants being awarded for 2005-2006 totaling $7171 are as follows:
- Life In Space
- Winged Wonders
- Recording Equipment/Music Department
- The Philadelphia Museum of Art Adventure
- Laser Printers/Art Room
- "Dear Esther", performed by Cherry Hill Katz Holocaust Education Center
- Junie B. Jones - Theater Works.
