Chuck brings to his position a wealth of experience and education. Prior to beign employed by Southampton Township, he worked for the Mount Laurel Township Public Works Department for almost ten years. He has served as President of the Ewansville Fire Company No.1, and has been a Firefighter for most of his adult life in Ewansville, Southampton and Pemberton Boro. He has availed himself of innumerable training programs in Firefighting, Emergency Management and Public Service through Rutgers University and other agencies, receiving certification in many fields.
Chuck and his wife, Lisa, are the parents of one daughter, Corinne. They reside in the Ewansville section of Southampton Township.

The department boasts of 12 employees under the capable supervision of Charles E. Oatman. These hard-working employees are responsible for trash removal five days a week, brush and snow removal, salt and sand applications, the maintenance of 7 baseball fields and 4 soccer fields (cutting 105 acres of grass weekly on the sports fields). The Department maintains 30 miles per week of ditch line and 31 grass islands.
They coordinate weekly dumpster day, spring clean-up day, tire pickup, crack sealing of streets, roadside cleanup, buildings and grounds maintenance of 4 township buildings, and set-up for various public events. Any wonder why our township has been designated a "Clean Community"?
