For the past two years the Southampton Boy Scouts (Troop 31) have been working on a nature trail in an area called "Camp Wood" along the Mill Race on Mill Street between the historic Burr-Irick House (opposite Red Lion Road) and Irick Hall (located on the west side of Trinity Church). Southampton Township purchased the property a number of years ago as a part of its Green Acres preservation initiative.
The Scouts named the trail "Eagle Walk." They spent two years clearing the path, (which included building a foot bridge over a small ravine)and installing 12 engraved posts representing the 12 points of the scout law: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent.

The entrance to the trail is located in one of Vincentown's most historic areas. The Mill Street location is between the historic Burr-Irick House and the site of the Grist Mill (which was constructed over the Mill Race). The foundation walls of the historic mill are still visible along the banks of the Mill Race. On the East side of the race is the recently restored Irick Hall , another of Vincentown's historic landmarks.

It is expected that a ceremonial dedication and ribbon cutting for the public will be conducted later this year.
Eagle Walk location in the past: In this sketch, the Burr-Irick House is on the left and the Grist Mill is on the right (the Grist Mill was built over the Mill Race where the present bridge railing is located). The area between the two trees to the right of the man standing on the sidewalk is the approximate location of the present day entrance to Eagle Walk.
